Volunteer Program
Image for Success is a volunteer-based organization and depends on over 125 volunteers who generously contribute their time and support to those in need. Without volunteers, we would not be able to deliver the quantity or quality of service our organization offers. Below are some examples of ways that volunteers can support our cause.
Personal Shopper
Volunteers can work one-on-one with an Image for Success client to help them select appropriate professional and everyday clothes. Our personal shoppers give each client special attention in the selection of a two-week wardrobe that fits their current circumstance. This position provides an enjoyable and rewarding way to provide a revived sense of dignity and self-assurance that comes with looking their best.
Retail Store Salesperson
If you are interested in clothing, this position would suit you well. Duties include working with customers to help them find just the right items, pricing and stocking clothing, maintaining the look of the store and ringing up sales.
Intake Specialist
Sorting through clothing and accessory donations is an essential and enormous, on-going task. Because clothes are the key ingredient to the success of our program, we are always in need of volunteers to sort donations, change out inventory in our boutiques and retail store, and make sure our boutiques and store stay in tip-top shape.
Special Events and Fundraising
Volunteers play an important role in helping Image for Success with fundraising events. This vital part of financial sustainability can only be accomplished with volunteer time and effort required to deliver a successful event. Duties could include chairing a committee, participating in set-up and logistics, or helping us find interested donors to support our cause. We also encourage volunteers to host a fundraising event of their own. This intimate setting is often a great way to engage friends in an activity they have in common while asking for a financial donation for our organization.
Short Term Projects
Image for Success is often in need of donated professional services. Specialties like marketing and public relations, public speaking, image consulting, and event planning are some examples of projects our organization takes on.
Administrative Work
Most non-profit organizations operate with limited funding and Image for Success is no exception. Tasks such as data input, compiling manuals, client contact, helping with mailings and special projects work are just some of the ways you could help.
